SSAs: Making Learning & Development A Priority
Singapore Children’s Society (SCS) has a vision to be a leading edge organisation in promoting the well-being of children. That is why they have tirelessly made it their mission to bring relief and happiness to children in need. Since 1952, they have evolved to meet the everchanging needs of children in Singapore. As such, they have now expanded to operating 12 service centres island-wide, offering services in four categories – Vulnerable Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services, Family Services, and Reach and Advocacy. As of 2019, they have reached out to a total of 66,966 children, youth and families in need.
As the needs of the society in Singapore changes, SCS saw the need to transform their workforce and equip them to better handle and help the society. It was no longer possible to put the training & development of their staff as an optional part of their workforce curriculum, it had to be a priority. Thus a task force was formed to create curriculum to aid with skills development. It would be impossible to focus on training and keeping track of each individual’s progress as the organisation had grown to over 200 employees. Another task was added to source for a flexible yet comprehensive Learning and Development system that could work together with their current systems to encourage self-learning, track growth and generate informative reports for management analysis.
After months of evaluation, we are so excited to share that Frontier e-HR’s Learning and Development system has been chosen by SCS as the main system to assist them in this journey of staff development. We are pleased that we are able to support an organisation with such a noble cause by supporting the development of the people who make such impact possible!
