Non-negotiable Criteria for HRMS

At the start of VGS’s journey on searching for a new HRMS, a HRMS project team has been formed and they had defined four key criteria that were non-negotiable:

  • Cost efficient
  • Have a full range of system capabilities
  • A reliable and stable vendor
  • Good post-implementation support

The project lead, Ms. Irene Woo shared that it is important to define your evaluation criteria and systems requirements clearly from the start, as it will help in the decision making. She also considered the final HRMS vendor to be a long-term partner in the business and not just a mere provider.

Ms. Woo mentioned, “Previously we always had to wait for our reports as it was outsourced. But now, we can create our own queries, which is useful.” The employees are also happy with the switch by commenting that it is easy to use and has a pleasant graphic interface.

More than the system, the HR team is also happy with the post-implementation support which was one of their non-negotiable criteria at the start.
